Earthsong:  Sally transformed the traditional song Over in the Meadow by adding modern lyrics in Over in the Endangered Meadow which brings alive the plight of endangered species in a way that children can appreciate.  Earthsong is a beautifully illustrated embodiment of this song in a book

Open Ears:  Paul McCartney, Phoebe Snow, Pete Townsend, and David Byrne are among the celebrities who share ideas for making simple musical instruments and exploring the world of sound. All royalties and a portion of profits will be donated to the Nordoff Robbins Foundation, a group of therapists reaching troubled children through music. 75 photos, 50 in color. 30 illustrations
Rise Up Singing  A great source for music along with guitar chords.  Click on the book to see what readers are saying about Rise Up Singing.
A Note from Sally:  Our friend and fellow Children's Music Network board member, Phil Hoose, along with his daughter, Hannah, have just published their first picturebook, "Hey Little Ant" with Tricycle Press.  It is cleverly illustrated and follows the conversation between an ant-squooshing youngster and the ant who is the possible victim.  The book has an open-ended conclusion and is based on their song by the same
name.  I highly recommend this book, especially for any teachers who are teaching conflict resolution skills (Grades K-3).  It is available from Amazon.com, but if you have a local independent bookstore, support them first.  It will cost you no more to order it locally and you save shipping charges.  Plus you will help to keep local business alive.
